Keyword Stuffing

keyword stuffingKeyword stuffing refers to an SEO technique that is mostly outdated and rarely used today. In essence keyword stuffing is a practice where tens, hundreds, or even thousands of keywords are loaded into a webpage either using 'meta tags' or various other means to render the words invisible to the user but still visible to the search engine bots. The goal in the use of this technique is to make the webpage appear to the search engine as having a great deal of relevance to some particular topic or content.

Years ago, when the search engines were far less sophisticated this technique was used liberally to attract the search engines to pages loaded down with invisible text repeated over and over or hidden text that had no connection at all with the actual content of the page itself. Today, however the search engines are far better at detecting this type of subterfuge and this technique has all but disappeared from modern websites.
